Every piece begins as a conversation and ends as something permanent — built shadow by shadow, made to hold its depth for decades.
Healed work, fresh work & full archive on Instagram
@tiwaiifunchessTiwaii Funchess is a tattoo artist working out of Columbia, South Carolina, known for black & grey realism that holds its depth — portraits, full sleeves, religious pieces, and script built to age as well as they photograph.
His work lives in the details: smooth gradients, deliberate contrast, and a careful read of how ink settles into every skin tone. Realism on melanated skin is a signature, not an afterthought.
Every appointment starts with the story behind the piece. Bring the idea — the design, placement, and flow are crafted with you, for you, and remain one of one.
Three steps from idea to ink. A deposit locks your date — and it goes toward your final cost.
Call or text 803-316-9696, or DM on Instagram. Share your idea, reference photos, placement on the body, and rough size. The more detail, the better the quote.
A deposit is required to book and applies to your final cost. Cash and digital payments are accepted — Cash App, Apple Pay, PayPal, and more.
Arrive rested, fed, and hydrated — sober, with a valid ID. Minor design changes can be made day-of; major redesigns may need a reschedule.

The tattoo is half the job — the heal is the other half. Follow these instructions for the best results.
Keep the second skin bandage clean and dry for four full days. Do not remove it early — it protects the tattoo while it starts to heal.
Gently remove the second skin. Wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and unscented soap, then pat dry with a clean paper towel — never rub.
Apply thin layers of an aftercare product three to four times a day until the tattoo is fully healed. Thin is key — let the skin breathe.
